5 Most Effective Ways To Get Rid of Acne Scars

Today Emma Hanson will show you the 5 Most Effective Ways to get Rid of Acne Scars!

Acne is absolutely awful when it breaks out on your skin but what really gets to me is the fact that sometimes it leaves behind these awful scars to haunt you.

So basically your pimples make sure that you never live down that horrible memory of going to your very first date with the guy you’ve been eyeing for a while with a disgusting zit on your cheek.

This is one of the reasons why whiteheads and blackheads don’t annoy me as much. They go away when I apply the simplest of remedies and don’t leave their mark on my face.

But thankfully, I have tried and tested many, many remedies over the years to get rid of acne scars. Some of them have worked well, and others, not so much. I have also found a number of products that work on acne scars as well but the natural home remedies are pretty much as effective and do not contain any harmful chemicals in them either. They are also, of course, much cheaper.

Aloe Vera

I believe that the simplest way for clearing acne scars is using fresh aloe vera. It shouldn’t even be a surprise that aloe vera is on this list because I am convinced that it can cure just about anything!

You can use the store-bought kind as well if you cannot find the plant but it is not exactly as effective the pure, fresh kind.

When you get your hands on an aloe vera plant, break off one leaf from it. Then, split it in half, along the longer plane. You will notice that there is a thick gel clinging to the inner sides of both the halves.

Using a knife, scrape off this thick gel from the leaves and put it in a jar. If you think that the gel is of uneven consistency and there are bits of the leaf stuck in the gel in different places, blend it in your blender to get a smooth consistency.

You have now extracted pure, aloe vera gel.

Applying this gel on its own to your face also has a lot of merits but you can turn it into something super-effective by making your own additions to it as well. I personally like adding essential oils in my blend of aloe vera before applying it to your face. Essential oils like tea-tree oil, frankincense oil, and geranium oil are your best bet.

Orange Peels

Orange peels are full of vitamin C. Vitamin C is promotes the building of collagen in your skin which makes your skin firm and elastic and repairs imperfection in the surface of the skin, such as acne scars.

Simply remove the peel of a couple of oranges, dry them out in the sun or a few days and then grind them into a fine powder form. You can now apply this powder on your face in many different ways.

My favorite way to use this powder is by mixing it in with honey until it makes a fine paste. Honey is another excellent agent that repairs the skin, brightens it up, and reduces signs of aging and blemishes as well.

Apply the fine paste all over your face or just on the areas where the scars are visible and leave it to dry for 15-20 minutes. When the mask has dried up, wash it off with warm water. Repeat this three to four times a week for the best results.

Tea Tree Oil

essential oil

Tea tree oil is my holy-grail product for acne and issues related to it. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties which makes it excellent for reducing the appearance of acne, preventing the formation of scars and smoothing over the scars you already have.

Pure tea tree oil is very harsh for the skin so you must never use it on its own. If you want to apply it by itself, you must mix it in with a carrier oil like coconut oil or olive oil first. Simply add a few drops of tea tree oil to the carrier oil of your choice and apply it to the affected areas.

Repeat every day for the best results.

Other than that, you can add tea tree oil to any DIY face mask, cleanser or toner to enhance their properties.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Indian Healing Clay

Indian healing clay (or bentonite clay) is one of the best remedies we have for acne and its related issues. It will tighten your skin, make it firm, prevent breakouts, and heal scars. Raw, organic, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar is also an excellent treatment for acne and acne scars because of its healing properties that come from vitamin C and because of its anti-inflammatory properties.

When the two combine, it forms an unbeatable combination. Apple cider vinegar and Indian healing clay mask form one of the best masks for pretty much all your skin issues, and this especially include acne and acne scars.

They lighten your skin, repair the imperfections, prevent acne breakouts and blackheads, and impart a sort of radiance to your skin.

Simply combine the clay powder with apple cider vinegar till it forms a smooth, thick paste. Apply it on your skin with a brush and wait for it to dry. When it dries off, wash it off with warm water. Repeat this practice three to four times a week for the best results.

Gram Flour

Last but not the least, we have gram flour. Gram flour is absolutely amazing for a number of skin issues we have, be it loose skin, scars, dull skin, or oily skin. It will repair all these issues, keeping your skin soft and glowing from within.

Simply add a teaspoon of gram flour in a bowl and add milk to it till it forms a smooth and thick paste. Apply it to your skin, wait for it to dry, and then wash it off with warm water. For best results, add a little bit of turmeric powder and essential oils of your choice to the mix.
