HOW DOES THE MILITARY DIET WORK

The military diet is a form of Intermittent Fasting, your body is not doing without calories altogether. But it’s losing a significant amount of calories, just as if you were fasting.

3. BOOSTS YOUR METABOLISM/PROMOTES FAT BURNING

The military diet can increase your metabolic rate. The higher your metabolism is the more calories you burn and therefore the more fat you lose.

This works by a mechanism called the “thermic effect of food”(TEF). As an example eating foods high in protein can increases your metabolic rate by 15–30%. Also protein is a kind of stimulant in that it can help you feel more fuller and for a longer period.

4. PROPER SOURCES OF NUTRITION IT NEEDS AND CRAVES

This last method is not scientifically proven its more philological. On many diets your body or maybe just your mind craves certain foods like “vanilla ice cream”. NOT being able to have this sweetness often leads to failing the diet. That’s where the unusual food combinations of the military diet comes into play.

Perhaps its the nutrients in these foods or just the affects it has on your mind, but whatever it is. The military diet helps deal with these carvings.
