5 Easy and Natural Skincare Recipes You Will Love

Summer and winter may bring their own delights, but both seasons can be challenging to a person’s skin. The good news is that many natural, easy-to-make skincare recipes keep skin healthy and beautiful. Here are five of them:

Wild Orange Mango Body Butter

1/2 cup grapeseed oil

1 cup of mango butter

20 drops of wild orange essential oil

Place all the ingredients in a bowl, and use a hand blender to blend them thoroughly together. Spoon into containers.

Sugar Scrub

1/2 cup of white or brown sugar

1/2 cup of olive or coconut oil

A few drops of any essential oil

Mix all the ingredients until well blended, and store in an airtight jar.

Face Mask

Banana and Avocado Face Mask

1/2 very ripe avocado

1/2 very ripe banana

1 tsp. honey

1 tsp. rose water

Put the avocado and banana in a bowl, and mash them with a fork until they make a paste. Add the honey and rose water, and mix well. Use right away by applying to the skin with the fingertips. Leave it on for about 10 minutes then rinse with warm water. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel.

Moisturizers

  1. Cocoa Butter Moisturizer

2 tsp. cocoa butter

1 tsp. almond oil

1 tsp. jojoba oil

1 tsp. beeswax

1 tsp. glycerin

4 tbsp. mineral water

1 tbsp. emulsifying wax

Place the cocoa butter, the oils and the beeswax in a glass bowl. Heat them together over hot water until the wax is melted. Then, heat the mineral water in a saucepan until it’s 175 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the emulsifying wax and glycerin, and stir until the wax is dissolved. Add the hot oil mixture to it, and whisk until it’s thoroughly blended. Continue to whisk as it cools. Pour into a sterilized jar, and leave it to cool completely. Keeps for six weeks in the fridge.

Lip Balm

1 tbsp. shea butter

1 tsp. castor oil

11 tsp sunflower oil

1 tsp. beeswax

4 drops of peppermint essential oil

Warm all of the ingredients save the peppermint oil in a bain marie. Let the wax melt then take them off the heat. Add the peppermint oil as the other ingredients cool. Make sure they’re well blended. Sterilize a jar, pour the mixture in, and leave it to cool for an hour. Lid the jar then store in a cool, dark place.
