4 Unconventional Diagnostic Techniques You Can Try At Home

Staying aware of your body is an integral part of your health. Here are four diagnostic techniques you can try at home.

The Pulse Test

Physician Arthur F. Coca discovered a simple and useful test to identify sensitivity or allergies one may have to certain types of foods by taking your pulse before and after eating.

Symptoms of food allergies/sensitivity can cause adverse reactions to your body such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, eczema, migraines, sinus infections and more. Coca determined that a person who is sensitive or has an allergy to a particular food triggers an increase in a person’s pulse rate.

If you have unexplained symptoms that you feel may be caused by food allergies, try to pulse test to test yourself and determine what foods exactly might be causing your symptoms.

Thyroid Cancer Test

Approximately 60,000 people are diagnosed with thyroid cancer every year. Thyroid cancer is a serious health condition that is more easily treatable the earlier it’s diagnosed. The test involves drinking a glass of water in front of a mirror to view your neck for any unusual growths. It only takes a minute and should be done on a monthly basis.

Muscle Testing

Applied Kinesiology, also known as muscle testing, is an alternative method of diagnosis to indicate imbalances in your body of a variety of ailments. Muscle testing works by asking yourself yes and no questions while at the same time applying force to one part of the body and resistance with another part such as the linked ring method.

Your muscles either contract, indicating a “yes” answer, or retract indicating a “no” answer depending on the question you ask yourself, making a subconscious choice. There are different methods of self-muscle testing techniques you can learn with just a bit of research.

Flexibility Test

The flexibility test is a way to determine the stiffness of your artery walls that naturally occurs as we age. Stiff artery walls slow down the flow of blood becoming a risk for cardiovascular disease.

The “sit and reach” flexibility test is done by sitting on the floor with a yardstick between your legs, and then stretching forward and measuring how far your reach is. There are many online calculators you could use to check your results. You can always improve your score with exercises such as yoga.

Staying informed and aware of your health should be vital. The earlier, the better. For more natural health tips, check out our other articles.
